Rafting

Class lll. La Virgen section.
Beginners and intermediate levels. Distance: 7.5 miles. Enjoy the best rafting trip in the Sarapiqui River. It is done between two little communities La Virgen and Chilamate. It is a very safe section for it is formed by continuous rapids of crystal clear still water pools. On this trip you can enjoy of four rapids class II and twenty class III, all of them of a good technical level.
The Sarapiqui River characterizes by its crystal clear non polluted waters, this allows the tourists to enjoy a landscape full of natural life which they discover thanks to the assistance of our naturalist guides. In the middle of the way, a stop will be made in one of the river sides, a still water area where tourists will be able to swim and taste the delicious tropical fruits of the season.

Class lV. San Miguel and La Virgen section.
Advanced level. Tour distance : 12 kilometers.
This is our most exciting trip, special for rafting lovers and people who like strong emotions. Prior experience is a must. This tour can be taken by people aged 15 to 50, depending on their physical condition. Before starting the trip a training about safety will be given. On each raft 6 to 8 people will travel with their respective guide.
The trip lasts from 1.5 to 2 hours and it consists of rapids alternated with still water pools where you can swim and have fun in the middle of an impressing natural landscape.
Sandals, tennis or water shoes, shorts, t-shirt and sunblock. As part of the safety equipment provided by AGUAS BRAVAS, each person will be provided with a helmet, a row and a life jacket which tourists should have on during the whole trip.
Transportation, only from hotels located in La Fortuna downtown, except the ones indicated below which are away downtown or the access is not good.
